November 28, 2009 through the month of December
at the historic Burdines-Macy's Art Exhibition Space at 22 E. Flagler Street,
in conjunction with ARTOCONECTO presents 'A-B(o)MB II: The Fallout'.
THE CCCV: Oolite Visual Arts Showcase is the annual arts festival component to the Borscht Film Festival showcasing Miami’s best young talent in the visual arts.
CCCV, the Roman numeral for 305, represents a generation of artists under 30 years old
who make art for, about or in Miami. They share a local idiosyncratic culture and tell local stories
to worldwide audiences. All artists who were born in, grew up in or are inspired by South Florida
are welcome to submit. The CCCV is proud to be a part of launching many careers for
filmmakers and fine artists and remains committed to providing an annual forum
specifically for local talent.
The submission process began July 20, 2009 and continues until October 13th, 2009. Selected applicants will be shown with other aspiring local artists as well as nationally and internationally recognized CCCV artists. Prominent local gallery directors will judge and curate the showcase.
These surprise judges will be revealed opening night with the announcement of special judges’ prizes awarded to selected artists.
Submissions are open to all mediums; we are also accepting proposals for site-specific pieces
for project rooms. Submissions must contain at least one high-resolution image and include
a short description of your tie with the CCCV theme along with the completed application. Installation proposals must list necessary components for their creation. Please specify if your work has any thematic or literal tie with a specific Miami neighborhood
(i.e. Kendall, Liberty City, South Beach, Hialeah, etc).
For submission applications, questions regarding the festival, and site-specific installation spaces, please visit www.borscht.info or send an email to Visualartsubmission@borscht.info.
