A Day at the Borscht Film Festival World Headquarters

We've sort of let this blog go by the wayside, but it is only because we are so busy making movies and getting the festival going, as seen in this animated video created by Spencer Morin over the course of a day this summer.

You get a peek at the Miami World Cinema Center administration, the Borscht Film Festival crew, a Foryoucansee Theater rehearsal of "The Toners in Time" and some test footage from Spencer's animations.

The best way to keep up with us is to follow us on facebook at www.facebook.com/borschtfilmfestival

In other news, today saw the City of Miami Mayor's Office of Film & Cultural Affairs get disbanded. While it's sad that many great organizations are undergoing cuts or financial difficulties, I don't necessarily see it as a completely negative thing.

Natural fires are an essential part of many forest ecosystems. They encourage biological diversity, enrich the soil, and force adaptations that make existing life stronger. Naturally this comes at the expense of a lot of established flora and fauna, but eventually the ecosytem recovers and is healthier than before. I have faith this crisis will eventually make the Miami arts community better, but for now the forest fire continues to rage...
